Stewart for second and quickly reeled in Campbell. Up from seventh. Alan Angclopulos piloted
his GSMXS/FMF/ Answer-sponsored Kawasaki
into third with a high·speed pass over Moore
a nd Arnol d prior to the 6O-foot camelb.1ck jump.
Showin g a fron t wheeJ in each corner, Mon ger
con tinued to p ressure Ca m pbell. to no avail.
The chec kered flag flew w ith Campbell first ,
Monger a second back in seco nd pla ce, and
AngelopuJos six seconds back in third . Stewart
and Moore batt led in a heated, side--by-side race
to the finish, with Moo re emerg ing fro m the
do uble-do uble- triple section with the ad vantage.
Stewa rt brought his Yamah a across the checkers
in fifth.
Monger pull ed out the hole5hot in mo to two,
with Campbell and Angelop ulos in tow. By the
end of lap on e, Campbe ll had acq uired the lead
and he never look ed back. Mo nger kept Ca mpbell ho nest by staying within 10 fee t of th e
lead e r for th e en tir e mo to . An gelopulos held
down third, while Stewa rt and Moore aga in bat·
tied for fou rt h. Moore then m issed a shift and
stalled his bike. allowing Stewart the op portunity to pass and pull aw ay by a conside rable mar gin. Angc1opulos came within a couple of sec·
onds of Monger for second, but as time ran ou t,
he couldn' t find a place to pass. Cam pbell collected the overa ll with a 1-1 per formance . Monger ma intain ed seco nd , and Angelopulos took
third. Stewa rt 's 5-4 earned him fourth and
Moore 's 4-5 landed him in fifth.
