GARRETISVILLE. OHIO, /UlY5
Ray Chilson put together a co me- from-beh ind
ride, while Doug Duane led from flag to flag as
the pair scored big during motorcycle road racing action at the Nelson Ledges road ccurse jn
Garrettsville on a perfectl y sunny Sunday.
Quentin Mise led the 600cc Superbike field
into tum one aboard his Yamaha YZF 600, ahead
of Ray Chilson on hi s It h a ca Recreation
Sports/EBC-sponsored Kawa saki ZX-6R. Th e
pair thrilled fans wi th a continual display of
wheelies exiting the final turn of th e 13-tum
road course. Mise defended hi s lead against
Chilson's repeated attempts to pas s for 10 laps
o f the 12-lap race. Chi lson pulled out all the
stops with two to go and passed Mlse going into
the Kink , a flat-out b umpy right-hander at the
end of the back straight. Chi lson made it stick
for the last two laps and took home the trophy
a nd his share of the ESC contingency money up
for grabs.

In an o u ts ta ndi n g com eback performance,
Duane took the lead from the green flag on his
Fasttrax Road Race Series /Br id ge st one Tlrebacked Suzu ki GSX-R600 , proving that he is
once again a force to be reckoned with even aft er
a b roken colla rbone su ffered in the last event

down by Mike Kelly, who was aboard a "v in tage " Yamaha FZR1000.
The trio ran away from the field until midway in to the 12-lap race, when Kelly began to
fall back wi th a badly cooked rea r tire.

de te rmined DiN icol a , w ho never ma na ged to
find a way aro und Duane's orange rocket Kelly
too k home a hard-earned third p lace to take the

a break from his rid ing duties with the Fast By
Ferracci Ducati sq uad to spend some time with
the riders in his hom e sta te of Ohi o. IGpp spent
the da y on Friday teaching, talking with riders,
