As the two came to a hairpin tum, it was Weatherly who came ou t ahead of Handclin and wen t on to take the checkered flag. Handelin cru ised in wit h second, followed by Garcia, Ric ha rd Adams and Burr . The second mo ta saw McCa ndless o nce again pu ll the holcshot, with Garcia right behin d him. However, Garcia we nt down on the nex t left-hander, leaving the rest of the pack frantically look ing for a way around him . As the dust se tt led, the runnin g o rde r was McCandl ess, Ada ms, Weatherly and Hande lin. And just as in the first mo ta, McCandless once again opened up a sizable lead ove r the rest of the field. And a lso ju st as in the firs t mot o, Hand elin wa s determined to hunt down the leader. Weatherl y mad e his way past Adams and bega n ga in ing g ro u nd on McCand less. But behind Weatherl y were Hand elin and her Yamaha in hot p u rs uit. After passin g Ad am s on a tigh t left -hander, Handelin set her s ig hts on Weatherly and made a clean pa ss over the finish-line d oub le to take over second posit ion. By the third lap, Hand elin was tailing McCandl ess, and the two staye d tight throughout the back se ctio n o f th e t rack. As th e two en te red th e " horses hoe" tum, McCandless wen t wide and Ha nde lin d ucked to the inside to take the lead.. Ha nde lin stea dily in crea sed he r lead as McCandless slow ly fad ed , possibly du e to the hea l Weathe rly and Garcia both took adv an tage of the fading McCandless and, as the checkered flag waved, it was Handelin w ith the win and the overa ll for the day.
