rider Lane Oslanski picked up second overall
behind Devries, while Morgan and Dube held
on for th ird and [ou rth, respectively.
In mote number one of the 250cc class, 27yea r-old Ma rty Burr grabbed the ho le-hot hut he
was soon overtaken by....Fly in'.. Ryan Gauld .
Gau ld rode wi th an open track ahead of him for
the first few laps until Blair Morg an moved up
and dismissed the young Yamaha rider from his
position. Dube the n sq ueezed by Gauld a fe' v
laps later. The mot a win was Mo rgan 's first of
the se ries , a nd a ltho ugh it benefited hi m th a t

Antwine, as he mJde his wa y forward following
a bad start by passin g two an d three riders a t a
tim e. Antwine mo ved into th e top five o n th e
thi rd lap as he passed Sam pley thro ug h the river
whoops and then Dallas William s just befor e the
camelback . He got by Guedry on the ins ide of
the power sweeper and caught sight of Bur kelt.
Burkett had a la rge lead, but Antwi ne was rl~l
ing him in. It was close at the end , wi th Bur kett
leading w ith two turns to go ; he held on for the
w in , w ith Antw ine s e cond , Gu edr y th ird ,
William s fourth a nd Sampley in fifth.

Beno it, who only managed a 12th in the firs t
mote. sh owed he had th e speed as he passed
\Vd liams and Bu rkett to take a well-deserved
second place - giving him sixth overall.
The Over 40 class showed they s till ca n go
fast. with Texas speedster Douglas Halt fonner
Texan (and now Arka nsas resident) Greg Dust,
and Little Rock 's Jack Hor ton all on the line .
Du st mad e the best start. wi th Bob Wilso n, Rick
Harris and Horton rig ht behind . Dust q uickly
opened up a 2O-bike-length lead on the pa ck.
Hall was stu ck back in the pack on the start
as he got throu gh the first turn in 10th, bu t he
was lett ing his YZ400 so und off as he rumbled
th rou gh the field . He go t by Wilson and made it

Both racers and spectators enjoyed an exciti ng
evening o f ra cing at the Glen Helen Stadiu mcross track. Sponsored by IMS, Fleshgear, john
Burr Cycle and JT Racing. the five-heat race was
held o n a Friday night as the sun set behind

The 250cc N ovi a.' race started with Yamaha
rider Dera n Benav ides taking the ho leshot and
Ho nda rid er Joe Rempp in second. The two racers battled it ou t, but Rem pp was the final victo r. Jimmy Robinson took a close secon d .
Rempp, from Vista , Cali fornia, said that th is was
his first race at Glen Hel en and he had a g reat
tim e.
"The track loo ks mo re in timid ating than it
is," Rempp said .
Remp p was not so lucky in the sL""Cond mot o,
as he we nt dow n in the whoops in fron t of the
grands tand and was b.uely ab le to hold o n to
third. Suzuki rid er Ca me ron Stt't'le , who was a
