Kell was back in second , but within half a lap TWeedy was knock ing at the door. Tweedy pu t the mov e on Kell under the ove r-and-under section and set out a fter Staffe r. Sta ffer's In-second lead was being chewed u p by T weed y, bu t Tweed y ra n o ut of time an d had to settle for second . Som e 15 seconds bac k came Kell, followed by Ray RitzIer and Mike Ferr o. TWL"L-dy's second -mote performance was Flawless as he po t his Sinisalo / N-Style-backed Honda out fron t righ t off the start, and he wa s never chal lenged. Staffer suffered a next-to-last start, but by lap three he was all the way up into second place. Try as he might, Sta ffer wasn 't going to ca tch TWeedy this time out and Kell finished third again. Ferro just held off Ritzier at the checkers for fou rth overall Joe H opk ins co llected th e Junior Vet Int er media te firs t-mo to win with a couple of seconds to spare over J.J. Taylor.
