Although it may not look like it, the YZ250 features many changes; pretty much the only one you can see is the new positioning of the motor, which now sits lower in the frame and has a more straight up-and-down tilt. Some of the internal changes include new porting, a redesigned YPVS power-valve system, a new power-jet carburetor, and a new exhaust pipe. The bike also features many refinements to the suspension. The suggested retail prices of all the new YZs will be the same as the '98 prices. Chaplin, 75, died on Thursday, May 7, at his home in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Chaplin was a sales manager for BSAfrom 1959 to 1974. ,. The Bureau of Land Management's EI Centro field office is developing a new management plan for the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area. They will be holding open houses to allow users an opportunity to meet with BLM staff and discuss issues such as user fees, safety, recreation opportunities, law enforcement and visitor services. The Motorcyde Safety Foundation (MSF) recently announced its 1997 MSF Award winners. The annual awards program highlights those individuals, groups, military services and state programs which exemplify the effort, leadership and inn&vations required to spread the message of motorcycle-rider education to the public and help make motorcycling a safer experience for the riders. Among the awards handed out was the Award of Excellence, which was given to Terry Butler, state coordinator for the Missouri Motorcycle Safety Program; the Outstanding State Program Awards went to the South Carolina Rider Education program, the Wisconsin Motorcycle Safety Program, the Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center, and the Motorcyle Safety Program of Pennsylvania. L~ AMHF expands Hall of Fame list , n addition to the 24 Hall of Fame induCtees mutually agreed upon to be the inaugural honorees to both the Dirt Track Hall of Fame initiated by noted television commentator Dave Despain and the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, the AMHF has named 100 additional individuals to its induction list for the motorcycle HaU of Fame, bringing the total number of inductees to 124.
