The opening moto of the Super Mini class saw Suzuki-mounted hank jungnitsch pull the holeshot arow,d the right-handed first corner. Greg 'Hochmuth of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, trailed close in second, with Tom Osmialowski . in third and Danny Beckett in fourth. Hochmuth didn't waste any time making the pass over jungnitsch. Hochmuth made his pass in the east sand section with an inside line, pushing Jungnitsch wide. Hochmuth opened up a lead by the completion of the first lap, while Jungnitsch, Beckett and Osmialowski were having a great battle for the runner-up position. Hochmuth continued to outpace his rivals while they battled it out behind the Suzuki-mounted speedster. Things heated up on the third lap when the trio of Jungnitsch, Beckett and Osmialowski went three+wide into the sand switchbac.ks. Something had to give, and it was the Suzuki of Beckett going down in the rough, sandy corner. Osmialowski came out on the good end of the battle with second place, and jungnitsch took third. Hochmuth cruised home with the win, with Osmialowski finishing second by just a fender over jungnitsch. After the quick get-off by Beckett, he got back up to speed to card a fourth. Chris Riesenbe made the trip from Manson, Iowa, worthwhile by taking the fifth spot. The second-mota holeshot went to Hochmuth; he was trailed by jungnitsch and quick-starter Mitch Dervin on his Max Pitts-supported Yamaha. Hochmuth did his disappearing act again, checking out from the field, while Beckett got by Dervin in the rockers for the third spot. Completing ~e first lap, Hochmuth had five second on jungnitsch, with Beckett close in third. Behind them, Dervin was feeling pressure from. Riesenbe and Osmialowski for the fourth spot. Osmialowski managed to get by both De.rvin and Riesenbe on the second lap in the sand switchbacks. Hochmuth was cruising way out in front by the white flag, but the mistake-free ride came to a quick, crashing end in the demanding sand switchbacks. Hochmuth remounted and refrred his Kawasaki just in time as Jungnitsch m ved into view. Hochmuth kept his cool and rode mi take-free to the checkers to earn the win and the overall for the day; jungnitsch came home second. good for the runner-up slot; and Osmialowski held off the advances of Beckett for third. Consiste.ncy paid off for Riesenbe as he took the fifth spot and a direct transfer to the Regional in Mitchell, Indiana. In the 125/250cc C division, Muskegon, Michigan's Sly rode his Honda to commanding wins, making it look easy. He ripped both hole hots in the l25cc C class, leaving the rest of thc pack in his roost. Unfortunately, the "Sly Dog" had to work for his wins in the 250cc class after two bad starts. Maybe Sly wanted to practice some paSsing techniques, but we wish him and the field the best of luck down at Loretta Lynn's. Results Saturday AUTO (4-8) 5S: 1. Jerry Stoken (Yam); 2.
