The Dallas, Texas, round of the AMA
Thor/Parts Unlimited Supercross
Series will be televised in a one-hour
show on ABC on April 26, the day after
the race. ABC will air the race at 5 p.m.
(Eastern), immediately following its
coverage of the Talladega NASCAR
Winston Cup race. Paul Page, the voice
of the Indianapolis 500, 'and regular
ESPN2 announcer and 1993 AMA
Supercross and National Motocross
Champion David Bailey will announce
the race, with Art Eckman and Davey
Coombs providing on-track announcing. "PACE Motor Sports is certainly
excited with the opportunity to showcase the world's premier motorcycleracing series on network television,"
said Gary Becker, CEO of PACE. "We
applaud-ABC Television's interest in the
sport of supen:ross and hope the Dallas
event will set a positive precedent for
future network coverage." The show
will be directed by Seals Communication's longtime supercross director,
Scott McLemore.
GFI Racing has scheduled the 125cc and
250cc races for the GFI Winter Series
North/South Showdown on April 26 at
Perris Raceway later in the day than is
usual to accomodate riders returning

According to Professional Motorsports
Productions (PMP), the Toyota Canada
Superbike Series will air on Speedvision this summer. The shows begin
with a preview of the 1998 season,
scheduled to air on May 26 at 9 p.m.
(Eastern). The first round, scheduled for
Mosport on June 7, will air on June 23 at
9 p.m. The Canadian National Road
Racing Championship consists of seven
races at six venues. across Canada.
Acclaim Sports will debut its "Supercross '98 featuring Jeremy McGrath"
video game in May. The game, which is
designed exclusively for the Sony
Playstation, includes tracks and bikes
designed by McGrath. "Jeremy McGrath
symbolizes the best in racing," said Bob
Picunko, sports marketing director for
Acclaim Sports. "Throughout his outstanding career, Jeremy has consistently
been the number-one name in the sport
of supercross. We are thrilled to have
him on board and look forward to tapping into his racing expertise to make
Supercross '98 the best racing game' for

reorgpnization to a nonprofit Colorado
