Treadwell and Johnson take Middleboro Motocross By Daniel Wallace Collins MIDDLEBORO, MA. MAR. 15 Mike Treadwell won the 125cc A and Over 30 A classes and Keith Johnson took home a win in the 200cc-and-over A classes as the NESC kicked off the 1998 season with 569 entri"" at the Capeway Rovers Middleboro Motorsports Park. The battling was incredible in all classes, and the mild winter looked to have helped everyone stay in radng condition. Ln the USee A main, Pat Barton took the holeshot from the drop of the gate, followed by Treadwell. Treadwell charged hard, looking very determined to take over lead, and went past Barton down the front straight to take over the lead. From there, the order remained the same to the checkers, with Treadwell taking the win over Barton. Adam Dupont, Eric Soucy and James Brothers. In the 20Occ-and-over A main event, Johnson grabbed the holeshot, followed by Scott Carter, Soucy, Treadwell and Wally Silva, Paul Letendre and Brothers. Treadwell dug deep and tried to pass Soucy, and the two banged bars and went down. Silva then flew by both to take over third. Johnson now had t.he lead, with Carter, Silva, Soucy, Letendre and Brothers following closely. Treadwell remounted and was now chasing Barton for the 10th position, and by lap four the Barton /Treadwell express was breathing down Brothers' neck for the sixth position. The order then was Johnson, Carter, Silva, Soucy, Letendre, Brothers, Treadwell and then Barton in eighth. The race finished in that order because of the fact that the motos were shortened due to crazy snow flurries and sunshine. In the Over 30 A main, Treadwell and Barton went at it again for the lead, with TreadweU taking the eventual win over Barton, Steven Burdette, William Dill Jr. and James Meenan in filth.
