MAR. 8 Clear, sunny skies and a perfectly groomed track greeted riders at round two of the 1998 California Rough Scrambles Series, where Yamaha-mounted Danny Hart swept both the 250cc and Open Expert classes. Hart got to the front quickly and was gone in the Open class, but it took him a few laps to get around up~and·coming Novice rider Greg Weeks in the second mota of the combined 250cc race. Weeks, also riding a Yamaha, took the holeshot in the moto, while Hart rounded the first turn in second. The two battled for five intense laps until Hart was able to get by. Hart 'went on for the Expert win, with Weeks taking the Novice win, followed by Jason Lawton, Billy Tetrick and Darin Craft. In SOcc (~) Novice action, Moto-Trax-sponsaeed Nicolas Baker put in two flawless rides to take the overall win, followed by Chris Jandro and Cody Greer. In the first 125cc Expert moto, Suzukimounted Jeremy Hannah took the holeshot, followed by Robert Hannah and Buff Soito. Soito moved into second place by lap one and quickly began to pressure Hannah for the lead, but Hannah held on to take the win by about a foot. In the second moto, Honda-mounted Robert Hannah got out front, with Soito in second and Jeremy Hannah in third. They put on quite a show for seven laps until, finally, on the last lap, Soito was able to make a pass stick to take the mota and overall victory. Jeremy Hannah and Robert Hannah rounded out the top three. • • giVing Results 50 (~8) EX: 1. Kutrer Morrison (KTM). 50 (0-8) NOV: 1. Nick Baker (KTM); 2. Chris Jandro (KTM); 3. Cody Creer (KTM); 4.
