More than 170 OTHG riders came from all parts of California and Nevad a to co ntest the two-day, fou r-mote event. It wa:\ a Vf't'Y tough win for Holm es, wh o fou nd hi m self in .1 three-way tie with Ed Simms and Brett Flor y, ae all three had accum u lated eight poi nts after fou r motes. Ho lmes was a ble to cli nc h the victo ry with a crucia l last-moto win . On Saturday, Ao ry took the win in the firs t mote, followed by Holm es and Simms. The second mo ta saw Simms tab the win , with Holmes and Amy in tow. On day two, the track was run in th e opposite d irection an d sligh tly changed, which ma de for exciting racing. though th e new track di d little to affect the hattl e between the three amigos. Simms pu lled out alI tht' stops and made a last-ditch effort to get by HolmE""i. but his efforts were thwarted and Holmes was victorious. With the last-mo to win, Holmes took the class win. followed by Simms (3-1-2-2) and Aory 0 -3-1-3).
