Brouhard lined up fur th e Open Pro class on the all-black Harley that had already won a main event . Poi nts lead er Bob Anderson grabbed the holesh ot . followed by Fauld s, vcrdccn Langla nd and Beving. Brouh ard began his charge from the back of th e- pack . Faulds dropped to fourth a.. Brouhard rock eted to third behind Langland . Beving, Pete Tapken and Faulds settled in to a tir e-rubbing battle that lasted th e entire race. Brouhar d slip ped int o second at the halfway po int beh ind Anderson, whose lead had grown while Langland and Brouhard battled. Faulds dropped off the pa ce with an off-track excursion that left Tapkcn and Bcving swa pping positions behind Langland in third. place .
