Aaron Baker was on fire, not only winning the
12.=icc Intermedia te cla~.. but also topping all the
125 an d 250cc Pros in a tten dance d uring Saturday night racing at Sta rwest C ycle Park.
Baker wa s dominant during both motes of
co m p e t itio n , pu ll in g ho leshots o n hi s
FMF/ Fox/Thousa nd Oa ks-backed KXl25 and
simply roosting a way fro m the field . Only the
night's top Pro. Craig Smith. could keep Baker
in sight, while Jason Fields was celebrating his
return to Pro raci ng by ru nning so lidly inside
the top three during both mo tos.
Alex Zapa ta wreaked ha voc in the Vet class
by pullin g ou t 3O-second leads in each moto in
the combined Vet race. Za pata seemed to ha ve
all the jumps and obstacles down as he raced
unch allenged to a d ouble -mo to vic tory o ver
Cameron Funk and big Kevin Lake.
Jason Medina seems to have stepped up to
the plate in th e minicyde ranks a nd was th e
only mini rider tonight to jump the 95--foot double jwnp on the front straig hta way. Medina ou td ista nced. his elders, Ma rk Valcore and Danny

Chad Go re wo n the 50 and 60cc (~) di vi sio ns and smoked away to a four-mote sweep of
bo th classes. CoTe:' raced mostly unchallenged
all night . but was kept ho nes t by Cod y Bradbury
in the 60cc d ivisi on and Brandon Mill ion in the
sccc ctass.

McAllister came back to wi n the second outin g of U nli mi ted actio n, a nd again the battle
came d uwn to McAllister and Ring. The two led
the H~rider field from the start an d bro ke away
into their o wn battle that would see an eigh t-sec ond gap open up between the m and the third place ri de of Creech. C reech was doing all he
co uld to keep Charles Hicks , Auteri a nd Cox at
bay.
A$ the mota was starting to wear dow n, so
was Ring - but McA llis ter loo ked to be getting
stro nger with each passing moto, a nd it showed
as he began to pun away fro m Ring. McAllister
too k a fine win o ve r Ri ng, secu ri ng another
overa ll win to go a long with his easy win over
th e 250cc B cla ss. Th e ba ttle for third was not
decided u nt il the la te stages of th e U nlimited
race, when Cox put the hammer d o w n and
moved past both Auteri and Hicks for third and
third ov erall o n the day. Fourth went to Autcrl
in both the mot a and th e o vera ll, wi th Creech
holding o nto fifth .
