"I hit so me ripples in tum five and lost the front end," Batey said. "When I lost the front end, I got my knee under the bike and lifted it back up, but I was already off-line. By that time it was too late and I had to ride off the track. On ce I was in the grass, I sa w the fen ce and put the bike down to -avoid th e collision. After I saw that ther e was too much dirt in the ra m-ai r, I decided to hang it up rat her than risk blowing the motor from th e d ir t tha t co u ld ge t s u cke d in th e scoops." Just as eac h rid er crossed his respective apex, they ru bbed agains t each o ther and Kling went off the track when his fron t tire clipped Fraser's rea r w heel.
