NETRA Enduro Series, Round 4 SlJITON, MA, AUG. 20 ermon t resid ent Jason Cayer took a n early adva ntage a nd V tu rned it into an overall win at th e a nnua l Tri-State enduro. CRE Im p or ts / C -C ycl e Suspensi on l Moose-backe.J Cayer a ttacked the first points-taking section wi th a vengea nce, ea r ni ng a one -point cus hio n over the competition tha t he easily held for the .rest of the event. The second overall finisher, KTM I Answer I A-Loop-b acked Tom Norton , s ta rted off a little rusty, carding a 6:33 in the first points-taking section to Cayer's 5:09, and alth ough he (Left) CRE-mo unted Jason Cayer look an ear ly advan tage and held It to win the Overa ll High Point Trophy al l he ECEA Tri Stat e Enduro. Th e decisive first section began 1.6 miles from the start, where riders were checked into the Douglas town forest. The trail that followed was typically bony, technical New England woods only thi s tim e with a twist. Instead of the usual slimy trail , the Tri-State M.e. was blessed with dry, late-summer conditions. Ins tead of mud, there was dust making it a little harder to see but a lot easier to get fo rwa rd tr act io n. Either way, the r e wasn't much ti me to get wa rmed up, but Cayer di dn' t see m to need it, setting the fast time through the section with a 5:09, a full 42 seconds faster than Norton. The only other two thou gh Landon only went as far as the sixth check. It seems Land on lost a lot of enthusiasm for th e ride when a qu ick spill put her down, and the rider behind her rode right ove r her - and she has the tire tracks to prove it! .,.
