LONDON, KY, MAY 11
Molosports KIM-backed Rodney Carrier rode to
three class wins at the SunStar Sprockets Race
Day at Daniel Boone.MX.
Ca rrier aced both motos of the Over 25 A
class, despite attempts by Mark Guy to steal the
lead. In the Over 30 A class, Carrier and Guy
again squared off, with Carrier gaining the
upper hand at the finish. Carrier's final race of
the day came in the 250cc A class, where he flew
to two moto wins to claim six out of six motos
for the day.
In the 125cc A class, top contender john
Brunck shot off the gate like a bullet in moto
one, where he held to a comfortable lead until
the final lap, when Adam Vaughn challenged

him for the front spot; but Brunck, the more
experienced rider, clung to the win, with
Vaughn taking the runner-up position.
Brunck went down on the start of moto two,
and Vaughn took advantage to take the point
position. By lap two, Brunck had made up his
lost ground and began to attack Vaughn for the
lead. With one lap remaining and the overall
win at stake, the two riders diced heavily.
Brunck made a gutsy move as he took the inside
of a tum to take the lead for the moto and overall win, with Vaughn chalking up another second.
Midwest Motosportsl FMF I Pro Actionsponsored J.R. Carter was untouchable as he
held off his competitors to win the Super Mini
Class with a 1-1. The first moto saw a race for
fourth develop between Derrick Young and
Justin jones as Carter ran off with the win. jones
applied pressure to Young on the second lap to
finally take advantage of Young's swinging
wide in a bermed tum to tuck inside and move
into fourth. Midway through the moto, jones
went down, injuring his left arm, allowing
Young to move back into fourth. Devin Hedrick,
who tried desperately to catch Carter, filed by in
second, with jon Witherspoon laking third and
Young fourth. jones finished a disappointing
12th.
The second moto saw Carter walk off with
the win, with Hedrick taking second again.
Witherspoon landed another third, while Young
dropped a position to fifth. Carter repeated his
shining performance in the Senior Mini 14- to
15-year-old class to go 1-1 for the overall win.
Young bettered his result in the class, as he took
second-place overall honors with a 2-2.
