When asked what he might have
done differently to win the race, Davis
laughed and said, "I would have had
about eight guys spread out around the
track pouring water one me! That would
have been wonderful."
"The fans got me fired up and gave
me the drive to go after Ty when it
looked like he was already long gone,"
Hatch said of his race-winning rundown
of early leader Davis. '1 took it easy for
an hour or so, caught up to him and just
started hooting and hollering and having fun. I was just trying to ride a smart
race, save my forearms from pumping
and just enjoying the ride."
Hatch added that at one point he and
