Yamaha, which had a wider spread of
power and used the top five ratios
instead. A year ago, the roles would
have been reversed.
Of course, now I had to learn to ride
the bike the way it should be ridden - in
Go-Show mode. Only, the maestro was
off sick, so for the time being until I
could get some retroactive tips, I had to
find out for myself.
I have to say it took some getting
used to, riding the Kawasaki at something approaching race pace at Albacete,
mainly because the bike seems rather
wide - low-slung and a little ungainly at
first. The new double-scoop bodywork
introduced this season with a crossflow
iliduct for the pressurized airbox seems
wider than the ZXR's previous singlescoop design, perhaps accounting for
the loss of top speed because of its pushing more air?
Only one thing wrong with that
notion: The new bike's actu
