Hemme inherited the lead and would continue uncontested aboard his YZSO for the win. The battle for second went down to the wire with Adam Quintard coming on strong during the la!t lap to get around Neitzel and earn the second-place trophy. Roybal was able to get going again to finish fifth behind TittJemier and salvage third overall. Rivals Michael Young and Christopher Cossewr diced over the 80cc (14-16) lead throughout both motos. The deciding factor would be who would consistently launcb off a double that most of the bigger bikes wouldn't even attempt. In the end, Young prevailed in both motos. Levi Reid wasted a rear wheel off the same jump, but still held on for 3-~finishes over Brent Gillliun. . The Old Timers returned to the days of old with a three-moto format for a day of racing on the Saddle Glen track. Kirk Muraoka found the big, sandy berms to his liking as he went three for three in the Novice class to top john Webb and Frank Derby. Results P/W (D-6): 1. Shana Rhinehart (Yam): 2. NOV. 3 .AMA Expert john Myers scored a win in the Open Pro main event at the opening round of the Ray jackson Promotions indoor short track series at the Clark County Fairgrounds. Myers, the heat-race winner, took advantage of an untimely crash by Pro-Am rider Tony Fox to take the top cash payoff in the IS-lap final. Fox, led the flrst 10 laps of the main event. just as it appeared that Fox's lead was secure, the flrst-year Pro-Am rider fell and the race was red-flagged. After a single-file restart, Lee jensen, who ran second to Fox for the flrst 10 laps, jumped out in front of the pack. Myers, though, jammed a wheel underneath the Pro-Am veteran to take a lead he would not relinquish. Jensen maintained second place to the finish, despite pressure from Yamaha rider Kenny McCann and Fox, who charged through the fleld. Twelve-year-old Timmy Ricketts, a former minicycle rider, made his class .debut in the 250cc ranks a successful one. Ricketts, who like Catey Dickinson was a heat-race winner, sat on the pole position for the A main. .<./ Phil Scott scooted out front at the wave of me green nag, but he fell and handed the lead to AMA 883 DIRT TRACK NAT'L CHAMPION Bartels' Eric Bostrom AMA SUPERTWINS NAT'L VICE CHAMPION Bartels' Ben Bostrom AMAIPROSTAR 600SS WORLD CHAMPION Rickey Gadson NASB BUELL UGHTNING NAT'L CHAMPION Bartels' Dave Estok Metze/er riders won every race in the Series!
