Canada. Up for grabs was an $8000 purse, in which the winners of the 600 and 750cc Pro classes took home $lllOO. Sixteen riders lined up for the 12-lap 600cc Pro final. Californians Mark Corsetti and Jesse Sanchez got the jump on the field and enjoyed the top positions until Stanley, best known as a IT specialist, stormed through the traffic and snatched the top position out of Corsetti's grasp. As Stanley sped away with the lead and the accompanying $lllOO, Corsetti and Sanchez ran 2-3 ahead of the local favorite in the class, National number 79 Russ Yamamoto, who finished fourth. and Oregon's Rex Fisher, the fifthplace finisher. Californian Rob Dameron chased Fisher to the flag for sixth. Former National number holder Ron Yamamoto rode a mid-70s Harley-Davidson XR750 to a win in the 750cc Pro class. But his win didn't come without a battle from Fisher. 'The duo traded leads and drafts throughout the ;' main event, but in the end it was the diminutive Spokane rider Yamamoto taking top payoff. Behind Fisher was another Spokane rider, Lonnie Kopp, who was the early race leader until dropping to third ahead of Matt James, Jerry Southworth and Steve Liberty. Washington's top two Pro-Am riders, Christian Vernon and Todd Hagmarui, spent a great deal of time battling in the Pro-Am main event Hagmann, though, look home top money as Vernon broke down and was done for the evening. Idaho's Steve Arndt netted second ahead of Ron Reiner. Vernon, though, earlier won the Open A main where he fended off Hagmann and former Canadian Expert Royal Adderson for the win.
