The original lap times of 18 minutes
were now almost 20 minutes. Levesque
was still out in front trying not to make
any mistakes, and it paid off. He was
increasing his lead over second-place
Norton by two minutes a lap. At the end
of the race, Levesque took the win with
a four-minute lead. Norton held on for
second place by only seconds. It took
everything he had to finish the event
after being pounded by his bike. Peculis
had caught Norton on the final lap, but
Norton wicked it up, giving it all he.
had. Peculis finally got crossed up and
went down, coming around in third.
Taking fourth place down another 30
seconds was Timothy.
Law got the jump on Claxton on the
final lap, finishing in fifth place overall
and taking the Expert class win. "I'm
trying to be the first 30-something to
break into the AA class," joked a very
happy Law.
Taking the Amateur-class overall and
moving himself closer to being promoted to the Expert-class was Brian O'Neil
on his Kawasaki KX25O. O'Neil was the
only Amateur rider to complete all
seven laps.
In the Junior event, it was another
runaway win for Eric Rougeau.
Rougeau completed the four-lap event
with almost a t:h!ee-minu te lead over
second place Brian Lawson. Jim
Wesolowski finished in third pLace,
down by only one second, with Jim
Se~al finishing in fourth, down only
seven seconds more.
The Mini class had a new winner,
with Jason Larocco taking the win with
. a comfortable lead over second-place
Mike Persitere.
