CA,)ULY12 With nearly $5000 in 125ee and 250cc Pro purse money up for grabs, many of Southern California's top Pro riders converged on the Antelope Valley "Fairgrounds for round two of Full Blown Promotion's Hot Supercross Nights Series, at which Michael Brandes swept the 250cc Pro class and Jeff Willoh took the 125cc Pro honors. Travis Preston grabbed the holeshot in the first 250cc Pro moto over Team Chapparal's Brandes, Team Noleen/Yamaha rider Kyle Lewis, Honda-mounted Donald Upton and Honda of Troy's Casey Lytle. Brandes passed Preston on the opening lap and would quickly establish a four-second lead. Lewis was allover Preston for a couple of laps before blowing past him in a long series of smalI whoops. Lewis spent the next four laps chipping away at Brandes' lead until he was close enough to reach out and touch him with the white flag waving. Lewis bobbled slightly approaching the grandstand triple jump on the last lap and wasn't able to get a clean shot, giving Br~des just. enough breathing room to win the moto. Travis outran Upton to finish third, with Lytle holding off teammate Willoh for fifth. Justin Tiearney nailed the second-moto start ahead of D.). Sweany, WiJloh and Brandes. Upton was buried in eighth with Lewis in ninth. Tieacney and Sweany both went down on lap one, handing Willoh the lead with Brandes in hot pursuit. Brandes spent the first half of the moto eating Willoh's roost before stuffing him in a tu.m to gain control. Meanwhile, Lewis and Upton had worked up through traffic together and were now pressuring Willoh. Lewis blocked Willoh in a tum to move into second and once again try to run down the fleeing Brandes. Lewis caught Brandes at the white flag, but Brandes was up to the challenge and came out on top of an intense last-lap battle for the win. Upton put a last-lap move on Willoh to secure third overall.
