Jonathan Pierce (!lew and Farnum ended up with second place with Rick Pearce third, Hull lourth, Castro filth and Brad and Robbie Sauer sixth and seventh. Aden took the lead off the start in the Scratch main event and lead all the way with Farnum and Castro, on a backup bike, battling over second. Farnum finally took the second-place position over Castro and Pearce. On the Sidecar side of the program, the team 01 Roger Loerers and Arnold Fimbres took the lead and managed to hold on with the rest 01 the pack close behind. Rob Virza and Brandon Kruse eventually broke away to linish second with Clyde Dennen and Dale Leed.er third, Alan Hall and Mike Moreno lourth and Steve Morrow and Craig Maggin filth. Bob Brayton and Parke Weaver had qualified lor the main eVlmt, but in their Scratch heat Weaver was injured when the rig 01 Don Horsley and Jell Medberry hit the hay bales at the start/finish line and bounced into Weaver, who suffered broken ribs in the incident and is likely to be sidelined for a while. Aden doubles at Speedway USA· again By Mike Maher vrCIDRVILLE, CA, JUNE 22 Scoring a double, winning both main events, is a rare leat in speedway but john Aden has now accomplished it two weeks in a row as he again won both the Scratch and Handicap main events at Speedway USA. In the Handicap main, Aden and "Fast Eddie" Castro came 011 the back yard lines and sliced through the lield to emerge at the Iront 01 the pack. Castro's bike pulled up lame and Aden went on to win unchallenged over Dustin Evans and Michael Hull. Aden took the lead at the start 01 the Scratch main event and simply walked away from the field, taking the win over Evans, Kon BaUT and Robbie Sauer. In Sidecar action. the team 01 Clyde Dennen and Dale Leeder won a dynamite Handicap main event that saw several teams chaIlen~g for the top spot belore Dennen and Leed~r swept around on the outside lor the victory with Steve Stanton and jack Straw second and Rob Virza and Brandon Kruse third. In the Scratch main Peter Lewis and Jamie Macy took the lead at the start and held it all the way, but behind them a fierce three-way battle was going on for second with Dennen and Leeder finally nipping out Stanton and Straw.
