Allman rocks at Starwest MX

Hodges passed on by to take the mo to win and
the overall on the day. McElroy, wi th the DNF,
could only manage an eighth overall . Kennedy
put in an impressive ride to take second in moto
two, which gave h im second overall, while
Brewer worked back up to fourth to net the
third spo t.

Days after receiving new s p on so rs, Shane
Siother snatched the 12Scc A dass overa ll wi th a
4-2 tally in the fifth rou nd of AMA Distric t 5's
Tucker Rocky Spring Series a t Pleas ure Valley
Raceway. .
Holes hot master Shane Lawson was first out
61 the gate in mo to one with johnn y Dnisko on
his back fender. By the end of the first lap the
top five postitions were sec ured with Sean
Hogan. jon Zonin and josh Sweat rounding out
th~ top five. Two riders tha t have been dominating thi s series so far , Jimmy Evans and Josh
Sweat, had their wo rk cut out for them . Evans
wa s flying from a ba ck-o f ~the-pack st a rt as
Sweat was pushing his way into fou rth. Sweat
wa s tailing Zoni n and took an insid e line in a
straightaway to capture lourth.
By lap three Onisko was on Lawson 's rear
wheel, and he tried to take the sam e inside line
to swipe the lead, but Lawson bl ocked h im .
However; as the top six headed into the woods,
everything changed. Sweal passed Hogan over a
set 01 doubles 10 take over third as Zcnin, Evans
and Slother were pushing closer, On the following downhiB, Zonin and Eva ns also passed
Hogan. capturing fourth and filth respectively.
Soon aft er landing the fou rth -p lace position,
Zonin inherited third wh en Sweat crashed in a
bowl turn, all owi ng the ne xt four rid ers by.
Coming up to th e fin is h lo r th e white fla g,
Onisko took a chance going to the ins ide to steal
the lead from Lawson.
On the last lap, Evans and Slother were both
still pickin~ off riders, with Evans passing Zonin
on a straigh taway and Slother making the move
. on Hogan in the woods. Before the end of the
lap Zonin had again lallen victim to Siother and
Hogan. allowing them to round ou t the top live .
At the drop of the ga te in the second moto,
Lawson was again out front but with Swea t intow this time. Onisko followed closely in th ird,
with Slother in fourth. Zoni n rounded out the
top five, with Eva ns again charging from the
back 01the pack .
Befo re th e fin ish 01 th e li rst lap, the

com pleted a pass on Onis ko going thro ug h the
whoops. Coming up to the finish at the end 01
lap two Lawso n spun out , allowing Sweat and
Slother out front. where they stayed for the rest
01 the mo to. On lap three, Evans flew by Onisko
on a straightaway and quickly worked his way
up to Lawson's rear wheel. By the end of tap
three , Evans completed the pass on Lawson on a
downhill, taking over third. Lawson and Zonin
rounded out the top live as On isko laded late in
themoto.
