Jack Jr. placed second overall, never able to overcome the morning's bad luck, and actually posting the best emergency points score on the day with a 12/192 score. Spen ce tied Richard on E-points, but d rop ped an extra point at check six, finis hing wit h a 12/199 to fill the number-three slot. Kevin Bennett aboa rd hi s bi ke-du-jour, a Husaberg, was never able to make up the extra point he dropped at check number two , finishing with a 12/220 on the day and fourth overall seeding. Rounding out the top five overall was KTM-mounted Frank Vanaman who also posted a 12, finishing with 243 emergency points. Class A 250 cc-class rid er Michael Moore made an unexpected appearance on a Yamah a, fini shing six th ove rall with a 13-242 score and w as awarded the High Point A trophy for h is effort. Runner-up to the High Po int A was streakin g thumper pilot Bill Atkinson wh o finished with a 13-258. In B-dass action, Steve Anderson ran aw ay with the High Point B title, posting a 18-406 card.
