By Homer Eubanks
RAMONA, CA,APR. 21
Fast and furious mo tocross took place at Barona

For man y it was worth the price of ad missia n to see Nelson circumnavigate the technica l

Not to be up staged, the young Jesus Casillas

reserved fo r onl y the fast er bigger-bore bikes.
Anthony Brucella quickl y too k up the challenge
and began clearing the aweso me triple as well.
Unfortunately the jump was not as simp le as it
seemed, and la ke Elkins suffered a broken arm

the class honors. As the defending class cha mpion, Hopkins may have been able to give Casillas
a better challenge but was busy fending off the
hea ted a ttacks of Dusten Watson. In the Stock
dass Bruscella was the one to ma ke Casillas earn
both his wins.
Ro nnie Loftin w as able to take home the
125cc (12-15) trop hy but had to earn it first from
Steve Yu rkovic. Yurkovic ca me out qu icker in

Yurkovic was able to dog Loftin throughout the
moto but had to se ttle for second on the day. In
the 125cc No vice Stock actio n Loftin rep eated
his ea rlier class win by p ulling out another second-moto win over Yurkov ic.
