Roeder took the lead at that point and got real stingy wi th it, leading the rest of the distance to claim his first-ever National win. The normally rese rved Ohioan was extremely animated as the win apparently brought him out of his shell . "Th at was one of the toughest rides of my life," Roeder said. ''1 rode as ha rd as I could for the whole race. This was my first National win and the firs t time th a t I was carrying my dads old National number (94). I want to think him and Ken Wime r. My dad's always believ ed in me." Stump held off Hacker for second and was stoked to be on the podium - 'or even near it for tha t matter - after his terrible crash at the Springfield Mile last May.
