Gores went to work right from the drop of the ga te on his KTM SO. Go res jumped higher off th e jumps, kept the gas on lon ge r d ow n th e straig h tawa y and braked lat er the n all of his competit ors en route to a convinci ng class victory. Cod y Longenecker turned heads with a solid performance that resulted in the runner-up henDrs in the Stock (4-6) division beh ind the So yea rold wo nde r boy Brand on Millio n, w hose winning rides brought the spec ta tors to their feet on mor e than one occasion. Kameron Scott continued to show signs of progr ess with his th ird place fin ish w hile Tanner Lang ha m ana Mike Mead e Jr. rounded ou t the top five. Joshua Grant po we red to victory on his Curnett Shock-backed CRBO in the BOcc (9-11) d ivision . Gra n t looked like an ea sy winner in the ope ni ng mota, but a stalled mo tor in tu m six spelled d isaster for the 9-year -old micro race r. Faced with the pr oblem of being too sho rt to start his machine, Grant wa s qu ick to think of a wa y ou t of his situa tion. " I pushed my bike do wn this hill an d bumpstarted it," he said . Gra nt got back on tra ck, mounting a cha rge th a t w ould br ing him to secon d at the fin ish beh ind first-mote winner Daniel Taft. The second moto saw bot h Taft an d Gra nt argue for the lead for m ost of th e race w it h Gr ant fo rg ing ahead in the end to score the mota and overall victory.
