By Dick Archer TURLOCK, CA MAR 24 , Dustin Bloomfield worked his wa y to victory in th e 125cc Pro clas s during th e first round of AM P Raci n g ' s fi ve-r ound FMF I M ech in ix WearlYam aha of Mode sto 1996 in Tu rlock. The first 125cc Pro moto sa w a goo d four way battl e as Dan Palad ino led the w ay th rough turn one ho lding off Du .tin Bloom field , Pet e Piantanida and Justin Quinn lap after lap, but not by much . Bloo mfield. wa s on Paladin o' s hee ls in several of the comers but could n't find a line aroun d him . Pa lad ino held off a.last-lap charge to ta ke the w in wi th Bloomfield but a second behind . In moto two, Bloomfi eld and Paladino rocketed aro und the broad, swee ping firs t turn. With Bloomfield jus t a wheel in front of Palad in o, they raced, side by side to the first hairpin. As they round ed the co rner Blo omfi eld got th e jump coming out on the gas and took the lead . Pa ladino knew he could n 't let Bloomfi eld get away and made severa l at tem p ts e.arly in the moto to regain the lead . He d id everything he could to cut Bloomfield off in the corn ers, but . Bloom field w as amped and wasn 't abo u t to let this happen. His racing experience showed as he protected his lines, blockin g every move that Paladino tried to make. This wen t on for most of the mo to, and by the last lap it w as anyone's guess who wou ld win this one. Paladino began to tire, and he was unable to make the pass on Bloomfie ld who crossed the finish line ahea d by abou t three bike length s. Meanwhile, Qu inn got the be st of Pianta nida for thi rd. Bloom field 's ha rd -fou ght moto victo ry ga ve hi m th e we lldeserved ove rall win and the early points lead in this series.
