Ebesu wins W ailua Motocross By Da n Huna a nd Willia m S m it h KAUA!, HI, MAR 24 . Keota Ebesu pu lled off the over all win in the Semi Pro class at Wailua Motocross by de feating his rival John Ryan to earn the winner's sha re of the purse money that was being offered by The Gard en Island Motorcycle Club . Onc e again these two fierce competi tors dazzled the Hawaiian spectators with their d isplay of aerial man eu vers and their willing ness to trad e pa int wh en necessary. Throughout the day Ebesu and Ryan battled for the lea d with one an other. Ryan, w hile lea d ing in th e main ev en t with the hard -charging Ebesu right behind him, approached the fin ish -lin e tabletop ju mp and went wid e. This gav e Ebesu the op portu nity to tak e the insid e line to capture the lead from Ryan and take the checkered. Other racing action during this d oubl ehead er saw last year's 250cc cha mp ion Issac Kaluah ine competing aboard a Bills Pipes CR 125 to captur e th e: IT scrambles Semi Pro-class win. Once again it wa s John Ryan putting the pressure on Hawaii's former champion for the lead thr ou gho ut the race, but Kaluah ine made all the righ t moves to give him the win.
