Steve Mannina and Brian Dickey took the ove rall wi n in the first race of round six of the San
j ose Speedway Enduro-thon Series, grabbing the
series point lead wi th one round remaining,

on a KX 60.
Former Mini whiz Ricky Delong team ed
wi th jim Chaney to lead the first tw o laps in the
two-hour 250cc bash. Veteran Jim Ingoglia and
Vet cross country ace John Mason stepped up to
battle along with Steve Hlebo and j ohn M atalw-
na ki on the Lindemann Eng Kawasaki. Som e
riders dropped out due to increasingly heavy
rain, with Ingoglia leading until just before the
red flag wa ved at 16 laps . about one hour and
10 min utes in to the show . Mar k Twiggs passed
fo r the win at the last moment. Ma son was
third .

Exp ert moto Blackburn jumped ou t to the ea rly
lead with Benny Du rrough and j ack Weaver follow in g. Blackburn rode the whee ls off the old
machine and eas ily wo n the opening inoto over
Durrough and Weaver.
In moto number tw o, Durrough led the way
with Weaver and Blackburn giving chase. By the
end of the fir st lap, Blackburn had moved in to
the po int position and slow ly pulled away for
the mota and overall win . Durrou gh held on for
the runner-up spot with Weaver roun d ing out
the top three places.
