Continued from preceding page redesigned pipe and silencer setups for better exhaust tuning. Other power tweaks include a digital CDI on the 250 and redesigned shift forks in both trannies .• New frame this year-geometry and everything. Compared to last year, some parts got moved around-some got lighter-and some are just downright gone. The seat and tank are flatter and narrower so riders can move around even quicker and easier.• There's new lighter swingarms- delivering ultra precision from about the beefiest hunk of aluminum you're ever going to find. The shock has a new leverage ratio that makes· the rear suspension a tad firmer in the first couple inches of ·travel-the hot ticket for better traction and a more precise ride. The front forks got buffed with fatter 46mm inner tubes, bigger axles and a set of double-bolt pinch clamps on both legs.• The whole package handles totally neutral-the new YZ goes where you point it and flicks when you snap it. • New brakes too-with new pad material and a new front master cylinder. There's a shorter front brake lever, a totally new brake pedal and new lever ratios front and rear. Now you can one-inger/one-toe your way into a corner, brake later, harder and get more pOSitive feedback. Other stuff added just because everything else was much better: new throttle, grips, tank cap, rear. sprocket, a recessed shifter pedal , . bolt and simplified radiator hose routing .• The YZ125 and YZ250. Sure, last year's bikes were bitchenbut the new ones kick their butts. Easy. See The nevv '96 Y'Z models CIT These pClrTic:ipClTing YClmClhCl DeCllers.
