the second 250cc Pro race. This time he even had time to entertain the Perris crowd with numerous no-foot, no-hand hurdles over the 7o-foot .double jump. While Brandes may have breezed to his wins in the 250cc Pro class, he found the racing much closer in the 125cc class. The first mota saw Dave Pingree provide the action as he repeatedly dogged Brandes during the late stages of the moto, but his efforts were thwarted by Brandes, who went on to win the moto. Chad Pederson looked strong on his SplitFire Kawasaki for third, finishing in front of Buddy Antunez, Dustin Nelson and Spud Walters. The story line was the same in the second moto, only this time it was Pederson who applied the pressure to Brandes. Every time Pederson got close enough to strike, Brandes grabbed a little more throttle and pulled away. The two jostled for position right down to the checkered flag where they went side by side over the finish-line iump. Brandes posted the moto and overall win while Pederson, Rusty Holland, Pingree and Shaun PeroHo rounded out the top five. Results so (4·6) STK: 1. Jl'ff AJl"llsi (LEM); 2. John McCarthy (Yam), 3.
