By Michael Harasmlsz
Sedanna Stlllnfock (24) leads a pack
Including eventual Women's Pro class
winner Jamie Pamlntuan (19) during the
Women's West Coast MX Nationals at
Glen Helen Raceway.
Schoen shined brightly in his two wins, scoring his first in the Minl Open class where he
took home top brass with 1-1 moto scores. Suzuki rider Brent Line gave Schoen a tough challenge in moto one, but Line crashed while running up front in the second contest to let the
leading. Schoen go on,to the win. With Line's
demise, Yaroaha rider Derek Walkoski took second ahead of Brian Dunagan.
In the combined 80cc 12- to 13- and 9- to 11year-old Junior classes, Schoen used another 1-1
tally to top the field ahead of Kevin Dixon, who
by virtue of his 3-1 motos was the recipient of
the 9- to 11-year-old overall ahead of Line and
Suzuki rider Tyler Fick, the first-moto winner in
that age group.
Professional action was among the best in
recent months as Suzuki rider Ryan Terlecki
traded moto wins with Honda-mounted Ryan
Leach in the 250cc ranks. Terlecki topped a climactic moto two for the overall win, while
Leach trailed across for second in the overall
despite losing the runner-up spot in the second
moto to brother Roby, who was third overall
(4-2) ahead of Husaberg rider Kenny Olsen (34).
Ryan Leach also rode a superb race in the
first 125cc Pro moto, beating· Terlecki and Ryan
Hagemann. However, Hagemann topped the
second outing for the overall win as Leac;:h was
relegated to third in moto two behind Hagemann and Terlecki. In the Intermediate portion,
Kawasaki rider Dusty Lenaburg used a 3-1 tally
for the win ahead of Justin Carroll.

SAN BERNARDrNO, CA, OCT. 28
Jamie Pamintuan raced to the Pro·class victory
during the 20th anniversary Women's Westcoast
National Championship at Glen Helen Raceway.
Racing action proved to be fast and furious
as women racers vied for class honors at this his..
tone event.
Pro-class action provided some of the best
r • .ring of the day. Sedanna Still mock holeshot
moto one only to be driven wide by Vet Pro Lisa
Gallo. Jamie Pamintuan raced closely in third
followed by Jodi Hollow, Corina Chinen, Chrystal Ponsock, Kathy Pruitt, and Bonnie Warch.
Gallo upheld Vet honor by holding the nation's
top Pro talent at bay for over a lap. Gallo then
made a costly error, overjumping the step-up
and allowing the pursuing pack to strike. Stillmock, Pamintuan, Hollow and Chinen quickly
dropped Gallo to fifth before she had a chance to
recover. Pamintuan made several pass attempts
on S611mock in the infield area before making
the pass stick as they approached" Animal
Leap." Oosing the gap in sixth was Warch.
Pamintuan opened up a. small lead, as Hollow battled past Stillmock, who immediately
had her hands full with Chinen, The hard-riding
Chinen was all over the track, pulling alongside
Still mock in the infield triples, only to have Stillmock slam the door to secure third as the flag
feil. Chinen finished fourth followed by Warch,
who reeled in Gallo to take first-place Vet honors by moto's end.
Stillmock holeshot moto two followed closely by Pruitt, Gallo, Chinen, Pamintuan, Ponsack
and Warch. Hollow got a terrible gate and started last as they entered turn one. The moto
quickly erupted into an allwout war. Pruitt was
the, first to fold and slipped back to fourth. Chinen made repeated assaults 01\ Stillmock to pass
but was blocked in the infield esses, allowing
Paminroan to take second. Pamjntuan swept
past StillmoCk into the lead over" Animal Leap"
as Hollow closed on the lead trio and initiated
an all-out brawl.
Stillmock had her hands full with a determined Chinen and a new threat in Hollow. Chinen got a better drive heading up "Animal
Leap" and moved into Second. Stillmock retaliated, slamming into Chjnen in the following
turn, Chinen held 00 to second position despite
the impact as Hollow moved in for the kill. Stillmock thwarted Hollow's attempts and at one
point Hollow struck the rear wheel of Stillmock
and aJmost went down. Hollow continued her
probe until it finally paid off with the third position. Pamintuan won the overall with a perfect
two-:moto score. Following her across the line
were Chinen, Hollow, Stillmock, Warch (taking
·the Vet Pro win), Pruitt, Ponsock, and Gallo.
