tum in this 'moto and it was a tight bunch that came around after the first lap. DeHoop had moved into the lead but was soon displaced by Brown with Sellards third and Skaggs fourth. Brown began to stretch out the lead with DeHoop feeling the tenderness in his knee and dropping off the pace. Sellards ran second. Brown won the battle but SeUards' 1-2 scores won the war. Skaggs pair of thirds were worth second place with DeHoop going 2-4 for third overall. In the first 250cc Pro-Am mota, Brown took over the lead on the second lap and then put it in cruise to take the win over OeHoap, Carsten and Skaggs. Brown got the holeshot in moto two and battled briefly with DeHoop before going on to collect the sweep for' the overall win. Results 125 PRO-AM: I. 1. Brock Sellardss (Kaw); 2. Capps caps Daniel BooneMX 3y Kathy Smith ONOON, KY, OCT. 1 Jonda Backwoods Shootout Day at the Daniel $oone Motocross Park proved to be another ~rcat day of racing for Travis Capps as he took ·op honors in the 125cc 0 class. One of the most exciting races of the day was the 125cc 0 race. In the first moto, Steve Colgate ctlme out of the gate in first place. By the end of the first lap, the riders had changed positjons, and Travis Wilson had taken over the lead followed by Capps. Brad Cassada was moving up .15 the riders raced through the back section. Before long, Cassada was knocking on Capps tnlck door, but Capps shut the door on him.. Capps and Cassada were wheel-te-wheel as they battled through Wildcat Corners and through MX Gorge. The battle became more heated as they raced side by side through the Big Sweep. Capps was still holding on to the lead. Excitement mounted on the third lap when Cassada took the inside on a tu rn in the back section and made the pass on Capps. The battle from then on was for first place, as Cassada tried to make a move on the leader. Cassada did make the pass on Wilson in Wile:;tcat Comers. He wasn't able to hold on to the lead, though, and Wilson soon reclaimed it. At the end of the third lap, Cassada passed Wilson in the Rocket Pocket and took over -first place. Cassada went on to win the moto. Capps finished in second place, 'and Wilson finished in third place. Cassada took the holeshot in the second moto, but by the end of the first lap he had fallen into third position. Wilson had taken over the lead, followed by Capps in second. The battle was on as Cassada challenged Capps for second position. Capps kept a firm hold on second place. On the second lap, Capps took the inside as they came oul of SheItowee Drag and passed Wilson to take the lead. By the end of the second lap Capps .and Cassada were battling for first place. On the fourth lap, there were three riders who were separated by pne or two bike lengths, as they raced through the back section in a fight for the lead. Cornett and Cassada put the pressure on Capps, but he was able to hold on. Cassada made a pass on the inside of the turn, taking over second place. Cornett charged and tried to recover second position before they crossed the finish 'line, but'hc was unable to do . it. Capps finished in first place for the overall win. Cassada took second place for second place overalL Cornett placed third for fourth oyerall, and Wilson placed fourth for third overall. It was a spectacular day at Danjel Boone Motocross Park on Honda Backwoods Shootout Day. There was plenty of racing excitement and good times were had by all.
