We have something .for everyone from the KTM50SXR to the 620LC4. S (Above) Bob Ingle (7B) chases Brian Brown (58) In the Open A main In Roseburg, Oregon; Ingle took the victory. ROSEBURG, OR. OCT. 8 Yamaha-moun.ted Matt Burns made his season debut a winning one by beating the previously unbeatable Brad Strong in a 50cc A main shootout at Di.amond Raceway's next-to-last round of the Oregon State Championship Series. Suzuki-rider Strong scored a win during qualifying. but Bums jumped into the lead at the start of the main event and Strong spent the entire 15 laps reeling in the season's biggest surprise. ~t the finish it was close, but Bums scored the biggest win of his' young career, while Strong, the class points leader, salvaged second ahead of fellow front-runner Asa Martinson. The surprises for the most part ended after the 50cc class, as Bo Ingle furthered hjs points lead in the SOcc Expert class after scoring a win i.n his heat race to sit the pole position alongside of fellow RM jockey Sean Light. Light stayed close for three laps, but couldn't catch the uncatchable lngle, who has won every SOcc main event here this season. Somewhat of a surprise was Kawasaki rider Amy Light, who finished third behind the Expert tandem in the A main for top amateur position over Mike Bums and Jesse Adams. Ingle survived another challenge in the 12Sec A main, this time from brother Travis. Travis, though, could only stay with younger brother Bo for a few laps before Bo toWly ran away with the 15-lapper. This left Ingle to fend off Light for a second-place shootout until Light saved what could have been a bad get-off, therefore taking a stranglehold on second. Light salvaged third at the finish. Bob Ingle, once again, proved he·s unbeatable on the tenth-mile oval, dominating Ws heat race and the Open A main as well. The Yamaha rider, like son 60 in the 80cc class, ~s quite a streak going in the class. His closest challengers so AM A: I. Matt Bums (Yam); 2. Bradley Strong (Suz); 3. Surwall scatters Rosarito Beach Motocross By Rich Truchlnskl ROSARITO, MEXICO, OCT. 1 Jeff Surwall sifted his way through the competition on the Cantamar Sand Dunes GP circuit to land the 250cc Pro win during round four of the Too Much Fun ITecatelLa Playa Motocross Series. The first moto started with a full line of motorcycles, and Eric Casas proceeded to stampede his way to a holeshot only to run off the track exiting the sandy, off-camber, right-hand first turn. Billy McClintock was able to capitalize on the mistake and capture the lead. Surwall got off to a fifth"place start but quickly moved up into second place. After a spectacular near-endo.off the finish-line jump on the first lap, and with track-side banners stuck in his rear wheel, McClintock was able to pull out a substantial lead early in the 20-minuteplus-one-Iap moto. But ~urwall was charging in second place and was catching McOintock at the rate of about one second per lap. By the end of the moto, McClintock enjoyed only a two-second margin of victory but he managed to hang on to the win over Surwall and Victor Arturo Sandoval. Rodolfo Sevilla won the 125cc Pro class after Duane Benner fell while leading the race. Surwall jumped to an early lead in the second moto only to let Casas take over the top spot as they exited the first tUrn. McClintock's luck changed when he stalled on the line while performing the traditional clutch-hand-on-the-helmet start. To make matters worse, McOintock later crashed, dropping him from contention. When the pack made its way around the track to complete the first lap, Surwall had regained the lead and opened lip a comfortable margin over Casas. Surwall took the win.with a commanding lead over Casas and ~att Berault to claim the overall win. In the 125cc Pro class, Sevilla held off hardcharging Benner for the sweep. ]van Navarrete was third. 1'N Results 125 PRO: I. Radolfo Sevilla (Suz); 2. Duane Benner (Hon); 3.
