Bill Snyder put on a great show for the fans
as he raced to victory in the 600cc Amateur, not
only winning the race but sealing his lock on the
600 Amateur championship point race in the
process. Craig Breckon lost his first-lap lead to
Snyder but held off a charge by Ken Adams and

Ryan'S the one at
Hollister Motocross
By Mark Hawkins
HOLLISTER, CA, SEPT. 3
Ricky Ryan showed why the world-famous GP
track at the Hollister Hills SVRA Park is one of
his favorites by claiming back-to-back moto victories for a dean sweep in the 250cc Pro class
during round one of the GFI Racing North's
1995 Fall Series, presented by the California
Motocross Association.
Young gun Rusty Holland grabbed the overall in the 125cc Pro class with a second and a
first. Holland also took the overall win in the
500cc Pro class. Rodney Smith, with his factory
Suzuki ride, waS never too far from the lead in
the 125 or 250cc motos, and he walked away
with the Vet Pro-dass victory.
When the gate dropped for the first 250cc
P1;O race. Smith came out in the lead. followed
by Ryan, Tyson Vohland, Pat Gomm and Holland. Smith continued to lead for a couple of
laps before Ryan outbraked him on one of the
steep downhilJs to take the lead. Holland must
have seen Ryan's move because he put the same
one on Gomm to move up into fourth. These
five riders would freight-train to the checkered
flag, leaving the rest of the field behind as Ryan
took the win.
The second moto wasn't as cut and dried as
the first. Holland grabbed the holeshot, followed by Dean Matson, Vohland, Ryan and
Shaun Wooten. Matson, having been off a bike
for several months, was having his troubles all
day, and found himself falling back.early in the
molO. Holland was setting a blistering pace that
only Vohland, Ryan and Smith were able to
keep. At the halfway point, coming into lapped
traffic, Holland was overtaken by Vohland for
the lead.
But the old guy Ryan was on the move, riding flawlessly. Ryan was soon on Holland's back
fender, and outpowered him going up the hill to
move into second place. With only a few laps
remaining, Ryan was closing in on the leader
Vohland. Once again Ryan made the pass on the
uphill section, moved into the lead and took the
win followed by Vohland, Holland, Smith and
Wooten.
