section. Moural managed to inch ahead of Davis at the next tum, and hot on the heels of the lead pair were Ben McClure, Jerrad Fisher, Nikki Harris, and Aaron Burns. Moural and Davis sailed over the first double only inches apart. but disaster struck when Moural lost the front end and landed face-first in the dirt. MomentaTily trapped by his machine, Moural .remounted, but not before the entire field streamed past. Davis assumed the lead, hounded by Fisher, McClure, Harris, and Burns. Behind them Moural began his charge, and by lap two had moved through the field and past Harris for fifth spot. A lap later he had passed Bums and McClure as well, while up front Davis and Fisher were hard on the gas trying to make their getaways. Only two more laps went by before Moural caught and passed Fisher for second, but Davis was still nearly half a lap ahead of Moural. Davis knew Moural was conting and put it all on the line, soaring over Cycleland's huge triple and carrying tremendous speed at the exit of the front straight. With two laps remaining Moura) caught Davis and dived under him in the teft-hander leading to the triple jump. Moural got a little loose on the approach and could only double while Davis went to the outside and went for three. As Davis "'ft the first jump he started to drift slowIy to the left and Moural had to duck to keep from being struck by Davis' rear wheel as Davis sailed overhead. Moural then stuffed it under Davis at the next comer leading to the finishline tabletop, and he.ld Davis off for the win. Behind them Fisher, McClure, and Burns rounded out the top five, respectively. Results r T SUBAK. Leading the charge off the gate in moto one was junior Rich Coppage, followed by l.R. Mason, Jerry Harvey, Mike Miller and Jesse .J;lath. On lap two, Mason crashed his Honda hard, and emerged from the back-section accipent a distant fifth place. Mason quickly regained the lost ground to engage Bath in a fight for fourth, and the momentum of the battle took both riders past Miller. At mid race, Coppage was cool out front with a slight lead, but was soon made aware of the battle behind in dramatic fashion as Mason and Bath caught Coppage at the entrance to the finish-line hairpin turn. Mason blasted around Coppage to . assume the lead, but Bath was held in third by Coppage. At the checkered flag. Mason took the win followed by Coppage, Bath, Mark Tilley and Miller. Mason grabbed the early lead iii the second moto, but was hounded incessantly by Bath. Bath slipped by Mason on the third circuit, then charged the remaining four laps to the finish flag to take the win. Mason gave chase but to no avail, finally giving up second to Coppage late in the race. In the final tally, it was Bath with the overall via his 2-1 moto scores, with Mason sec~ ond, and Coppage easily topping the Junior class.
