I .... eVENTS wins in the 500cc class and 80 Open (for the day's 10 fastest riders), and he also set the fastest time of the day at 3.45 seconds. Wood wowed the crowd in the first round with a stylish ride of 3.75, which at that time was the fastest ride. First-place contender Todd Cipala came back in the second round with a 3.81, not fast enough to beat Wood, but good enough for second place. Wood could have chosen not to ride the second round since the win was sewn up, but he came back with an even faster 3.45, and ran away with the fastest time of the day. Mike Bronk and Opala battled for the top spots in the Open class. Bronk, with a first round ride of 3.72, was just one one-hundredth of a second behind Cipala's 3.71. Bronk was able and determined to take the victory, and did so on his second ride with a 3.52. Results MINI IR: 1. Luke Parmeter (Kaw); 2. Chuck Dricken (Suz); 3. Jeremy Timm (Han); 4.
