Dickey Dominates Mosier Valley MX By Chris Boic e ARJJNGTON, TX, JUN. 2 C.T, Dickey treated himself to double mota wins " in the 50cc class at the Mosier Vallt."y Texas Summer Series sea son opene r. Dickey set aside his new KTM for his tried-and-p roven Yamah&l to capture the overall win. KTM -m ounted Michell e Mar ella gra bbed th e holeshot in the firs t SOcc mot a , followed by Dickey and Scotty Wennerstrom . It di d n 't take Dickey long to ma ke his move in to th e top positio n. Ju st before the finish-line jump Dickey stuck a wheel un dernea th Marel la and took ove r the lead . Mar ella took ~dvantage of h e r lo ng-tra ve l KTM and soa red by Dickey over the finish -line jump only to have Dickey repass her in the next tum. After that Dickey pulled out a 10-second lead that held to the finish. WL-nners trom was able to move his way into second place on the second lap leaving Marella third. The two battled for the position for the duration of the race- but Wennerstro m kept Marella relegated to third p lace, Mo to two wa s carbo n copy of the fir st. Marella launched int o the early lead but was once again passed by Dickey on the first lap . This time Dickey mad e the pass in convincing style and never looked back. 'Wen ne rstro m was recov ering from a last place start and was able to move rapidly into third place. but had a lot of d istan ce to mak e up on the leaders. It wasn 't until the last lap that Wennerstrom wa s able to pass his way into second place. At the finish it was Dickey with the overall win , fol0 lowed by Wennerstrom and Marella .
