Schwartz, Venegas show off at Glen Helen Speedway By Elaine Jones Phot o by Ji m Thorn SAN BERNARDIN O,CA MAY31 , The Bobby Schw artz and Charlie Venegas show continued at Glen Helen Speedwa y as the two rid ers dominated the program; Schwartz won the Scratch ma in for the fourth wee k in a row and Charlie Venegas cam e from th e 100 yard line to win th e Handicap main. Direct transfe rs to the Scr atch went to Schwartz, who d rew the number tw o starting position. Next to him in three wa s Steve Lucero . Venegas picked the number four hole with Jesse Finch on the far outside in five. Transferring from the Last Cha nce w as Don Od om, who came up with the pole . When the tapes came up it was an o th er grea t start for Schwartz, who took the lead as they head ed info one. Venegas was close fo r the seco nd with Lucero third. Venegas im media tely wicked th e throttle all the way up in an effort to out-ho rse power Sc hwartz . When Pa tin ella started to close in on the lead er Froehlich, the front runnin g Honda ride r increased his pace and began to pull away . The third place battl e cam e 10 a head as Brett Punzi ma de his way past Agostinelli. Throughout the last lap Froeh lich cruised all alo ne in th e lead to take the mot o wi n, while Patinella followed for seco nd and Pu nzi rounded out the top three finishers . As Patinella go t closer to th e lead er, Froehlich crank ed -up his pace and began to dis tance hims elf ahead of the class. With time to spare on the last lap , Froehlich did a Nee-Nee fo r th e spectators .
