Shipley motors to Birch Creek
Motocross victory
By Jay and Sharon Hauser
DANVILLE, VA,MAY21
To say tha t Scott Shipley eas ily took three ove rall wins d urin g the sixth roun d of the U.s . Eastern Pro-Am motocross Spring Series woul d not
be entirely tru e.
But to say that the Ans wer / Andrews Motorspo rts / WD-40 / Ha m merhea d Graph ics Acerbis /Ceet /Bell / Sco tt USA-backed Sh ip ley is a
racer who wins with heart certainl y would be.
Ship ley had to battle every inch of the way
to take three class wins, and he did it by winning the motos that cou nted , mostly the second
motos. Shipley had to de al wit h poin ts leader
Rob McWhorter in the 250cc A Pro di vision and
pos ted a strong second in the ftrst moto, only to
come back and smoke mot o two for the overall.
Shi p ley has also crea ted ne w rivalry wit h
Bob Gerken in the Senior ranks . These two rid ers have go ne at it in all of the previous five
rounds of the series, and toda y was no d ifferent.
Gerken took the first moto win in 30+ A actio n
ove r Ship ley and fellow Dasco rid er lay Hau ser
only to have Shipley win moto two for anoth er
overa ll. Sh ip ley ha d no problem takin g bot h
mota wins in 25 + A action over Gerken an d
Goldsboro based William Finch .
