Cadmus, Colecollect Castaic Motocross wins By Greg Robertson CASTAIC, CA. MAY 21 jeff Cadmus and Earl Cole bounced back to win their second motes and take the overall wins in th e 2S0cc Begin ner and 250cc Novice classes respectively d urin g the third round of California Racing Clubs' 18th annual Dun estown Series at the Castaic Lake MX track. Wayne Zahrt jum ped out to the early 250cc Beginner firs t mot o lead follow ed by Dam on Podolny , Phillip Za ckrison a nd Bob Go rma n. Cadmus had ga ted mid pack, bu t by lap two he had worked his way up to th ird behind Zahrt and Podolny , wh o ho unded Za hrt for a no ther lap before making his way in to the lead where he w ou ld s tay until th e fini sh . Cadmus got around Za hrt in the closing stage s to take seeond at the checkers. Clare nce Abbott came from th e back of the p ack to ea rn fo u rth a head of Zac kriso n. Za hr t nailed his seco nd holesh ot of the da y wi th Cad mu s a nd Pod olny hot on his tail. It took Cadmus over half the race to find a way around Za hrt and into the I~ad. Once ou t front, Cadmus steadily pu lled aw ay for the win. Zahrt helJ off Podolny to finish in the runner-up posi tion but th e second -p lace trophy went to Podolny wit h his 1-3 score . And rew Labrador was quickest ou t of the gate and led mos t of the opening 250cc Novice moto befo re havin g p robl ems an d recordi ng a DN F. Bryan Dorsey was battling with Michael Gilmore over seco nd p lace when he suddenly found himself out front and collecting the firstmoto win . Gilmo re took second ahead of Colby Begin. Cole spen t the entire mota working up from a last place start to finish fourth. C ole wa s out to p rove he wa s the fas test rid er on the track , and he did just tha t by leading every inch of moto two . Dorsey ran second for a while but cou ldn 't ho ld off the charges of Labrado r and Brett Fox and finis hed fourth. Dorsey a nd Cole were tied with five points each. but Co le's second moto win ga ve him the overall. Fox used a 6-3 score for third overa ll. Results P IW B-2: 1. Bryce Ternan (KTM); 2.
