In mot o o ne it wa s tw in s iste r Jessica McConn ell fi rst o u t of th e gate, b ut she w as q uickly passed for good by Melanie in the seco nd tu rn. Sherri Stephens and Ta nya Rob e rt s had a bailie going on for third from the start . With Roberts jumping bo th of th e up h ill doubles, she gai ned va luabl e time a nd mad e her wa y past Stephens. Rounding out the top five was A ndrea Ippolito. Steph ens quickly regained her mom entu m, was on Robe rts ' rear tire. and passed her a t the end of lap one on the d ownhill straightaway. As the McConnell s pu ll ed away from the rest of the pack, the batt le conti nued for third for the rest of the moto. Robert s was gaini ng time on Stephe ns every lap and again made her wa y pas t on the uphill doubles for a th ird -place finis h. Moto two w as not much d ifferent tha n the first ex ce p t th a t it w as the G ibso n ia Cyclebacked M elanie McConnell who snat ched the ho lesbot while on her way to another checkered flag. Jessica McConne ll was shaving seconds off of Melan ie's lap times every lap but to settle for second. Stephens secured third place followed by Rober ts and Ippoli to. On Su nday, the quali fiers for the modi fied bikes took p lace with M i ke Barto blow ing away the co m pe tition in the 85ec 14-15 class. Ba rto made it first out of the gate in moto one and was never headed . Moto two found William Palme r ou t fro nt off of the gale, but not for long. as the Cornie's Suzuki / H onda-backed Barto executed a pa ss around him in an off-camber tu m .
