Fifty three riders found bright skies and cool
tempe ratures perfect for a da y of riding a good
mix of sections.
Aaron breezed through the sectio ns, dropping a mere 's ix marks as he searched for anything that would challenge him. Geoff' s closest
competitor was natio nalJy ranked Brian Nagengast with 63 marks lost.
Scores were much tighter in the other classes, as tie-breakers were used to determine the
results in both the Senior and Novice divi sions.

many former riders in checking.

Devonshire rises up
at Pagoda Motocross

Near ly 30 0 rid e rs sh o we d up to co m pe te in
Pagod a Motor cycle Club' s ope ning motocross
event for 1995, and back v,.; th a vengeance was
Suz uki pilot Jim Devonshire, who won both the
BOcc (14-55) and 12Sec C classes.
Devonshire's last trip to Pagod a resu lted in a
severely broken arm, bu t afte r havin g the win ter
off, he has healed and appears to be faster than
eve r. In the BOcc (14-15) action. Devonshire got
good s ta rts in bo th mo tos and b as ica lly
d estroyed his com petition by sweepi ng bot h
motos. But in his first at bat in the 125ee C class,
he had his hands full . Devonshire had to p ut up
with press ure from past 80cc rival Shane Ha rris.
The pair duked it ou t in moto one with Harris
taking the win and Devonshi re running a close
second .
Mot o two sa w the sane pair rip away from
the rest of the pack. Devonshire fared better this
time. taking an ea rly lead _Harris wa s running
second and tried but could not catch the fleeing
Devonshi re. Devonshire 's 2-1 ea rned first overall.
The 80ce (7-11) class racin g wa s intense as
Casey Oark and Derek Burlew hammered awa y
at ea ch other while tradi n g mo to wins. Clark
wou nd up on top, winni ng moto two for the 2-1
scor e and the overall. Burlew, new to the 80ce
class, took second .
The 125 and 250cc Expert classes pro vid ed
quit e a show as the crowd wa tched Rosinni Racing Products-ba cked Ty Wallace clean house in
all four mot os. The only real contest was in moto
one of the 12Scc class when la y Rassa whipped
his Hond a around tum one an d off into the lead .

Sunda y's Oass A series riders faced a challenging tria l. with seven riders unable to complete the event . Robinson used his ever-improving skills to win the trial wi th only 45 points; his
closest competitor was 23 points behind him.

Kusanovich was also victorio us on both da ys. Bill
Flewelling, Ted Gansberger, an d Neil Belvoir all

Intermediate. and Expert classes respectively.

the 125 and 2SOcc Pro classes, resp ectively at the
Hom Rapids ORV sp ring ope ne r. Mota one of
the 12Scc Pro class saw Chaun McAlister explode
to the early lead over Lamastus, Pete Russell,
and Moore. By lap three. Moore moved to second behind McAlister as Lamastus sta lled his
bike and dropped to a distant third . Moo re wa s
pu shing McAli ster for the next couple of lap s,
and by lap six, Moore took over the lead, passing
McAlister on the inside of a wide sweeping tum
and never looking back. McAlister took seco nd
while Lamastus finis hed a close third.

short-lived as Moore went from fourth to first in

Lamastus took the inside and shut the door on

Moto one of the '25Occ Pro class saw lamastus rocket to the lead ove r Pau l Gau th ier, Russell, Jeff Bailey, and Mark Olberding. Lamastus

race and cruised. to a 35-second wi n over second
