Bob Moore had star ted well, but all went wrong for the American. Manneh, 18th in race one, holeshot the second moto bu t was soon dropping back and out. "I've had s tomach cram ps all day," said Manneh. "I hadn't wanted to start again." It was a great day for the JHK/SilkoIene-sponsored official Kawasaki team, as American Tallon Vohland moved to second in the standings after placing third of the day, easily ~e best non-sand expe rt, while loca l rider Remy Van Rees had joined his teammates in a 1-2-3 finish in the first mota. First r ou n d winner Marnicq Bervo ets dropped to fourth in the stan dings after collectin g just five points all d ay as a result of crashe s and a broken chain. Bervoets was dead-last at the end of the first lap of mota one. "I got caugh t up in a collision at the third comer, but 1 was still around 10th place," he said. "Then 1 made a mistake and crashed right off the track over a deep berm. 1 went in a ditch and was up to my kneesin mud. That's why it took so long to get away again ."
