into another rider as the shortage of braking power meant that he was unable to
stop quickly enough.
Bob Moore had star ted well, but all
went wrong for the American.
"Someone .collided with Bader (Manneh) at the third tum and 1 went straight
into them an d then the rest of the pack
rod e into me," he said. Fifteenth on lap
one, Moore ended up 13th.
Manneh, 18th in race one, holeshot the
second moto bu t was soon dropping back
and out. "I've had s tomach cram ps all
day," said Manneh. "I hadn't wanted to
start again." Everts wasted little time in
passing th e American, and went on to
lead every lap . The Belgian rode a masterly race, doing no more than necessary to
hold his advantage.
Twice h e w as challenged. Tr agter
charged th rou gh quickly from fifth to
second.
"I got it down to four seconds at one
poi n t, b ut the clutch was sli pping the
whole race and 1started to get tired," said
Tragter.
The next man to go after Everts was

and he looked a likely w inner
with five minutes to go, only to get a bad
run through lapped traffic which forced
him to settle for a safe second.

rep eat ed his 1994 per formance at
the Eurocircuit at Valkenswaard to
win both motos of the second round of
the World 250cc MX Championship, the
most prestigious off-road series outside
the USA, and move to the head of the
standings.
It was a great day for the JHK/SilkoIene-sponsored official Kawasaki team, as
American Tallon Vohland moved to second in the standings after placing third of
the day, easily ~e best non-sand expe rt,
while loca l rider Remy Van Rees had
joined his teammates in a 1-2-3 finish in
the first mota.
The race was a d isaster for the rival
Joh ns on B'ieffe Su zuk i squa d. First
r ou n d winner Marnicq Bervo ets
dropped to fourth in the stan dings after
collectin g just five points all d ay as a
result of crashe s and a broken chain.
Bervoets was dead-last at the end of
the first lap of mota one. "I got caugh t up
in a collision at the third comer, but 1 was
still around 10th place," he said. "Then 1
made a mistake and crashed right off the
track over a deep berm. 1 went in a ditch
and was up to my kneesin mud. That's
why it took so long to get away again ."
Bervoets' troubles were still not at an

end. As he finally caught up to the back
0... of the pack on the third lap, he crashed
