Manley's the man at
Dade City MX
I
By Kyle Myers
DADE CITY, FL. MAR 25
Brian Manley made his visit to Dade Gty Raceway a profitable one by winning both motos in
the Open Money class at round four of the Point
Series, which played host to 210 riders.
In the first Open Money moto, Ricky Hampshire nailed th e hol eshot with Kenny Yoho,
Manley, Jason Thomas and Ronn ie Renner giving chase. Yoho flew by Hampsh ir e in the
whoops to lead th e o pen i n g lap, and then
Hampshire moved over to let Manley by. Yoho
and Manley pulled awa y from the eight-rider
field to battle for the lead . Manle y stalked Yoho,
waiting for the last lap. As the white flag came
o ut, Manley flew outside down t he front
straightway with Yoho tu cked inside. As the
two fron t-runners hit the sweeper tum, Manley
dove inside and stayed low in the sweeper to
slip by Yoho . Manley held on for the win over
Yoho, Ham pshire, Thomas and Scott Lamb.
Man ley picked up where he left off in moio
one by grabbing the holeshot over Yoho, Ha mpsh ire. Lamb and Renner in mo to two. Yoho
immediately pressured Manley for the numberone spot and hou nd ed Manley for three laps
until a broken chain ended Yoho's charge. This
gave the Thor I FMF I Cycle Sports Cen te r backed Manley a hu ge lead ahead of Hampshire. Renner passed Lamb late in the mota to
run third.
Manley crossed the fin ish line to score the
overall victory with Hampshire. Renner. Lamb
and Billy Wood rounding out the top five positions. Hampshire later came back. and won the
250cc A, 25+ and Open Amateur classes.
