FIM has announced tha t the 1996 ceremony will be held in Sevilla, Spain, Former CZ factorymotocross mechani c Viktor Lahita, 66, d ied from a massive heart attac k on March 26 at his home in the Czech Republic. Lahita became th e fac to ry mechan ic fo r joel Robert in 1966, with the pair going on to wi n the 250cc World Championship that year. Lahita worked in CZ' s research and devel opm ent department for m any years before becoming involved in vintage motocross fo llowing h is retirement . .Funer al services were held on March 31 in Strakonice, with Robert one of th e many motocross racers in attenqance. Lahita is survived by his w ife Lyd ia. In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dutch TT at As sen, IS-time World Champion Giacom o Ag ostini, six-time World Champion jim Red man and 1969 250cc World Champion Kel Ca rruthers will be r eunited with a fa mous Grand Prix machine on which th ey on ce raced . Agostini w ill ri d e a 350cc MV Agusta that he rod e to victory in Assen in 1976; Redman will be aboard the six-cylinder Honda 250 that he first raced in 1964; and Carruther s will be aboard th e 16-v alve Bene ll i four-cyli nder 350cc machine he campa ign ed in 1970, the season after winning the 2SOcc title on a Benelli. Th e to p World Su pe rbike teams are scheduled to take par t in a group test session at the Misano Adriatico circuit in Misano, Italy, on April 24-25. Among those scheduled to participate are Scot! Russell , Anthon y Gobert , Colin Edwards II , Doug Polen a nd Aa ron Slight. Th e first ro u nd o f the World Superbike Series is scheduled for Hocken heim, Germany, on May 7. Brit Te rry Rymer will race a Suzukipowered Bimo ta SB7 in the 1995 World Su p erbi ke Cha mpio ns hip . Rymer's effo rt will be run by Tea m Greco . The Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area recently celebrated its 2o-year annivers ary. The park was purchased wit h off-hig hway "green stickie" fun d s on April 1, 1975, and official- ly opened as the sta te's first vehicu lar re creation area on July 1, 1975. The park attracted some 25,000 people in its first yea r of op era tion and in 1994 the park drew over 100,000 peo ple. book.
