Braddy, McCoy split Ardmore Short Tracks By Nlcalee Sowders ARDMORE, OK, FEB 24-25 Bret Braddy won the Open Pro ma in event Frida y, while Willie McCoy won on Saturday during Ed Beckley's Motor Sports of America show at the Ha rdy Murphy Coliseum. In the first heat race, Braddy got the holeshot from the start and had McCoy and Scott Scherb chasing him down. In the end, Braddy pla ced first, McCoy second, and Scherb third . In the second heat race, Charlie Orr got the holeshot, lea ving Greg Teague and Joey Duvall battling it out for seco nd an d third p lace. The end res ult was Orr, Teague, and Duv all. When the main event rolled around, everybod y was ready. Brad d y gol the holesh ot with Orr rig ht behind him, leaving Teague, Du vall, and McCoy to battl e it out for third . The first red flag ca me ou t after Tea gu e and McCoy we n t down. The sing le-file restart pu t Braddy in first a nd Orr in second . Duva ll was th ird wi th Teague and McCoy at the back of the line. On the sixth lap , Orr went down, brin ging out the yellow flag . From there. the remaining 2(}'lap main finished wi thout a hitch. as Bradd y came home first followed by McCoy and Scherb. On the second da y of racing. Scherb won the first heat race ahea d of Teague and Orr. McCoy got the holes hot in heat two and led from wire to wire over DUvall and Bill Hoffmiester. The track appeared to be faster durin g the main event, an d McCoy and Teague had a race going until th e red flag came ou t o n lap si x when Casey Burton went down. On the singleme res tart , Teague remained in first followed by McCoy, Ho ffmiester Du vall and Orr . On the 10th lap, Teagu e and Bret Braddy got tangled up , leaving Teagu e on the gro und and cau sing an other restart.
