Colomer's first error came on the new section nine, when he carded a five and gave Pons and Colley one last ray of hope, But they too would fail on the most difficult hazard of the night, ending their hopes of victory. The final three section, the high jump and the two side-by-side speed sections, were acad emic and served only to punctuate Colomer's dominance.
